This report is actually for the entire week of March 30 to April 3. I was without computer access during the week.
My wife, grandson (age 7) and I fished Heart Lake every day during the week, the weather permitting. Whenever we fished, the fish cooperated and we had a great time. The fish were not large, but when you are 7 years old -- any fish is a big fish. Biggest fish I saw in camp was a 5 1/2 trout from Windmill Lake and a picture of a 2-3 pound smallmouth caught and released from the rocks on the dam.
The road in to the lakes is a little rough, but drive slow and no problem. We caught the last of the bad weather with 40 mile per hour wind and a snow storm. The day we left the weather was clear and warming.
