Went fishing with a friend of mine from about 8am to 11am. We tried using bobbers with worms, powerbait, shrimp and bread dough. We fished from 3 ft. to 25 ft. down. Tried lures. Rerigged and fished on the bottom with all the different baits. Not 1 bite!!!!! With 15,000 fish planted this year so far you would think that there would be at least one DUMB fish left in the lake. Its been the worst start of a year for this lake that I can remember. Maybe with the next plant of around 11,000 fish for the free fishing weekend for the kids there will be some fish left that the birds don't get. But the lake is closed April 16-18 except for the kids fishing. I hope someone else is having better luck than I have.

You probably saw a large number of cormorants with fat bellies and smiling faces. When the department plants those half pounders the birds make short work of them.
