4/26/2009 10:58:00 AMI almost caught that bald eagle last week on a topwater swimbait. No joke, I will never forget that moment. Those birds sound like a jet when the come over your shoulder !!

Arrived at Spring Lake around 2:30 pm. A few boats were out trolling, and one other person was fishing from the shore at the boat launch. The gentleman fishing from shore got his limit in about two hours and left. A few other people arrived to fish from shore and out of the six people that I had seen a total of eight fish were caught from shore with only five being kept. The Bald Eagle kept us company while we were waiting for the fish to bite. He had better luck than I did. I only had one fish on, but it got loose before I got it to shore. Then at about 6:00 the rain started and I packed up and left. Sorry about the quality of the pictures, only had my camera phone with me. Bald Eagle 1, me 0. Still a good day to be out.
