First off, this is my first report. But it's a bad one. Fished Cassidy from about 11:00 to 3:00 and not a bite. We tried trolling rooser tails for trout, tried jigging for Crappie, and I spent most of the time tossing weightless plastic worms and grubs,(senko brown worms and chartruse grubs) into the lilly pads. Only thing I left with was a sunburn. Been out 4 times now to different lakes and still skunked for the season. Tips wanted.

You should cheat. Worm and bobber all the way. If they are there its fish-on.

Oh yeah, tried that too. I've read about all the small crappies in there so I thought, Worm+hook+bobber=small fish. Tried and true right..... Nothin... o well

Snorider, next time out try a tiny hair or rubber jig tipped with a maggot about 2 feet under a small bobber. Cast out and retrieve with a jigging motion parallell to the lilly pads. Maggots will out fish worms for crappie every time. Keep doing what your doing for bass, they'l l turn on soon. good luck

Don't feel bad. I have had the same experiences the last 4 times out. I have fished Cassidy many times and despite the reports that they stock the lake with thousands of trout, I have never experienced a decent bite at this lake. Keep at it!

The guys fishing from the boat launch seem to do pretty good from the times I have been there. Try trolling some Dick Nites. Had quite a few planters hit them last weekend.

Bass fishing @ Cassidy usually isn't very good until the weather gets warm and stays warm. I may give Cassidy a try tomorrow if the weather permits, but Stevens would probably produce more fish (smallmouth).
