Fished in front of the Best Western for about an hour and a half. Fishing on most boats was pretty slow, most boats had only landed one to two fish that we talked to. We landed one smaller silver and then headed in. trolled wedding rings tipped with gulp maggots behind lake troll flashers. All of the fish were between 29-32 feet deep on the fish finder.

hey wenatcheefisher, Next time out try on the opposite side of lake in front of the Red Roofed Condos. There is a defined shelf (drop-off) that runs Parallel to shoreline. Look for it on deppth finder. Have found cooperative silvers stacked along there on last two trips out. Also, for me, I have better luck with smaller bait on the wedding ring. I'll use half or less if using berkley honey worm (similar to the maggot). Persons who use shoepeg will use one or two kernels depending on the mood of the fish.
Good luck with your outings.

Hello blufin loui, thanks for the tip on where to fish! My wife and I are heading to Chelan from Vancouver WA on Friday, I've never fished it before but I would LOVE to catch my first ever Mac. Do you have any suggestions on locations and tackle? And are there any other areas that you could recommend for good sized kokes? Maybe we could meet up sometime this weekend, we're planning to stay through Saturday afternoon. Let me know, thanks!

The "Bar' or 'Mack Bar' is a good place for lakers. From Anton's last post, it looks like it is starting to hold fish. If you go straight out (south) from the boat launch in Mill Bay, you start on a shelf, then it goes deep, then it comes back up... that hump is the bar. I've also gotten kokes on that shelf out from the boat ramp, though in June/July... You might also drop Anton Jones of Darrel and Dad's an e-mail. His trips are great, but he also is good about passing on current info about where the fish are. He's helped me in the past.
