Hit the Scooter about 11 AM (crack of dawn days are a byegone thing when you drive 100 miles to pick someone up, then another 50 miles to the lake) and headed for the canal between the upper and lower section. We holed up in 35 ft at the lower (South) end of the canal and worked prop-head chartreuse jig heads with Yammamoto 4" smoke grubs and a crawler. Missed LOTS of bites but took 4 keepers out of that hole. Moved up to the cliffs north of the park and missed a couple. Moved back down to the north end of the canal and found a 30 ft hole and picked up 4 more keepers. Nothing big, 16" or so. Fish were lethargic and water temp was only 54.
