You know the saying "What a difference a day makes", well that about tells it all.
Decided to retry the lake after last week's success and once again arrived at the launch about 6:30 AM. Decided to try same set-up as last week and went from the launch straight across to the north shoreline and then eastward. In the first hour caught and released 4 Cutthroats ranging 10-13 inches. About 7:30 AM one of two things happened, either "SCOTTY" beamed all the fish to the "ENTERPRISE" or otherwise they engaged their "CLOAKING" devises because for the next 1 1/2 hours I never took a strike or painted a fish on the fish finder. Having covered the east end, I thought to troll down the north shoreline and head up the lake. I discovered the lake to be VERY deep along this shoreline and as I was nearing the "north point" decided to cross the lake and head towards the south arm. Mid lake, I found, 2 things, a massive debris field of stumps, logs, branches etc and fish, however the fish were beyond my ability to get to them. I discovered the fish to be schooling between 70-100 feet down. I attempted to get down however I either came up short or didn't have the proper feed. After about 3 hours, I elected to head back to the east end, and as I headed back to the east end going down the center of the lake, I was surprised how large this debris field was. I estimate the field to be nearly 1 mile long and almost the width of the lake. Eventually arrived back at the east end without ever taking another strike and eventually decided to call it a day about 2 PM.
