Gosh dang it i have been skunked three times this week by good old bead lake. i have had dreams of pulling up a nice ling out of there but now my dreams have lowerd there standards to geting a bite. i always have a great time up there from the amazing drive up there to the crystal clear water. but the gloves are off i need fish. i have tried worms and a truoble hook jigging of the bottom but all i have pulled out is a sucker fish. if that dont kill your hopes i dont know what does so any advice im all ears. im about 2 drives up there this week from knowing the ladys at the gas station by a first name baises and thats not a good thing if your coming home with bait still on your hook and no fish.

The way we fish for them up at sullivan is at night with glow in the dark buzz bomb's and sometime's we use nightcrawler's. Good luck.

Try taking some of the suckers and cut up a piece of meat to jig with. Ling/Burbot do not like worms nearly as well as a chunk of fish.

Oh yeah, guess I should have mentioned that one too. We do that as well but we dont have as good a luck catching the suckers as you do on Bead. Caught more trout off of a worm on the bottom than suckers. Good luck and let us know how you've done.

yo clyde been in your shoes i love bead lake too ( except the lady-man at the boat launch). Dont fish the first bay go at least to the power lines or farther. fish in 40 - 60 feet of water. i like spoons best but buzz bombs work good too. cant tell you all the secrets but use crawdad or corn scent. good luck and i go to bead all the time. mabey see u up there. Blue Dodge truck 2005. Also ice fishing i have the best luck. got a 14 lb one last winter 36 inches long. also we lost one that woldnt fit through a 8inch auger hole. Good luck on the macks too.

when fishing for Burbot it is good to use worms and deadfish seasoned a few days. Use a jig that makes a lot of noise/and stirs up the botton. Do this constantly, that is the trick . GOOD LUCK. bead lake is one of my favorites but patience is a catcher there,
