Went out to Deep Lake on Monday afternoon in the boat. Found out that you want a really light boat (I would suggest inflatable) at this lake. It was a bit of a pain getting our heavy monster in the water!
We trolled with wedding rings and rooster tails for about 3 hours. Got a couple of bites (maybe snags) but that was it. Didn't seem like anyone else was doing any better. I think it was the heat.
I had heard of some people doing pretty good off the docks the previous week and over the weekend, but not on Monday.
Had a great time regardless. Got to watch a hawk and Bald Eagle go at it. At least three different bald eagles were out and about! And the eye candy from the swimming area wasn't bad either!! Might head back out there again, but not when it is so hot!
