Fried trout, hashbrowns, and corn on the cob. No better dinner on a summer evening after a day of fishing. It's been a family tradition with my family since the 1950's. We would fish all day, have that special dinner, then retire to a blanket in the back yard and listen to the Spokane Indians baseball game on the radio. With the exception of the ball game, that same senario was repeated today. Marshall Lake paid off by trolling my "Orange Blossom Special." That's a wooly bugger tied on a size 10-2X streamer hook. I use and orange bead head, orange thread, orange marabou with coffee colored crystal flash for the tail, and orange tinsel chenille for the body. Trolled slow behind the oars with a full length of full sink fly line and about 6-8 feet of leader and tippet was the set up that worked. The lake had a mirror finish for most of the day, and only a wisp of wind on one occation. I had 11 strikes, and managed only to land 3, but that was enough to make my day very enjoyable.

Sounds like a great time Joe. Have been thinking of heading back up to Marshall, but have been too busy working at home and now have the boat pretty much blocked in. Need to get this project I'm working on finished so we can get some more lake time in. Glad to hear you had a great time at Marshall. :-)
