Launched at 7am and there was only one other vehicle in the parking lot. Headed west of the launch first to fish the small area of logs and pads with some topwater baits, this only resulted in one smack by an 8 incher. I was however greeted by all three of the otter's that call this lake home as they were swimming in that area feeding on the small bass.

I turned back east and went out deeper and back past the launch casting a DT-6 in a bluegill pattern. I was trying to keep it in about 8-10' of water and tick the grass with it, this resulted in zero strikes.

Once heading north down the east side, I alternated between crankbaits and jigs. I fished all the way down to the point, and only had trailer tugging dinks to show for it! This was a tad bit alarming because jigs and that shore go together like peanut butter and jelly, hmm?

Rounded the corner picking a pounder off the point and a couple more dinks (8-10inchers) which were absolutely everywhere!

Cut across to the cove in the n.e. corner to fish the pads and laydowns in the shallow water, this also resulted in more dinks including one that latched on to my rubber frog's leg and refused to let go! I almost had him in the boat! lol. Headed back up towards the r.v. park and finally found a decent bass, 2.5lbs, along the north shore casting a gold shiner colored spinnerbait parallel to the pads in about 8-13 feet of water just west of the "park" with the huge dock. I was reeling very slowly and watched him hit it right off the front of the boat.

I fished the rest of the way around back to the boat launch, hitting every point with at least 5 different rigs before moving on, fished out to 25' with grubs, deep diving cranks, jerkbaits, jigs and an old ham sandwhich and couldn't manage any more chunks! Just dinks galore, as many as stars in the sky, fighting over my 3" Yamamoto curly tail grub in watermellon green on a 1/4oz jighead yelling "take me 8theB8", "take me"!

Water temps were 69-71* and once again there appeared to be a little funk to the water?? Either algae blooms are following me this year or I really need to clean my Costa Del Mar's better?! lol

There was very little wind and it was overcast the entire time. The only time the wind blew it was about 7mph out of the south, and oddly enough that was exactly when I caught the fish in the pic....
