Beautiful remote lake. I am by no means a fishing authority, just saying IMHO fishing has slowed from the 5 fish every time of last fall. Already been shore fishing several times and boat once this year( '10). My friend Lee and I fished out of his boat a couple weeks ago. I caught 4 long/slim (post spawn?) Browns 15" / 18" throwing lures to within inches of the steep rock slide shore, read, all caught within 4 foot of shore. Lee caught 2 fat 16" RB's doing nothing but drifting a worm(4'/6' deep) behind the boat while I was working. This week while shore fishing by myself I have seen most boaters doing very poor trolling/OK throwing lures. FYI, photos are of some of this months RB's I caught on worms and marsh mellows while shore fishing. Several times out I've been skunked but all RB caught have been 13"/17". Hens are showing eggs and bucks got their sperm sacks filling. I'm taking a couple weeks break to see if the action picks up. Will this years mild weather produce an early RB spawn?

sourdough, I too enjoy fishing Rock Lake. If you see a black Nissan P/U and an over 50 guy with a fedora on his head; say, "Hello". I'm boatless, so I bank fish. I tried it 2/19 and the WIND and the cloudy water made for tough and fruitless fishing. The lake had white caps on it!
