2/23/2010 6:21:00 PMthey aren't kokes they are landlock silvers and kings. the thicker ones are the kings and the skinnier ones are silvers. and there are lots of big fish in this lake its huge so there are lots and lots of hold overs plus stockings

2/24/2010 7:35:00 AMtight lines- Looks like we have one moron deciding he is the fish goddess (mattbass). I personally got a lot of info from your post and all the responses. I had no idea silvers and kings were dumped in Riffe lake. Kokes I've heard are there. 12 responses is a successful report when only one or two come up negative. Thanks, tight lines, for the report.

2/24/2010 6:12:00 PMNo kokanee.......this has been discussed many times. They are landlocked coho (silvers). Kokanee are landlocked sockeye, not in this lake. Sorry, but that is the facts.

2/25/2010 7:14:00 AMThanks Poacher Hater.. I didn't know it had to be a sockeye to be considered a kokanee. I thought it was any planted land locked salmon. It took me about 30 seconds of googling to see you are correct. Again, I learned.

I intend to check this lake out (again...) this weekend. I'll take good pics if I find a Kokanee - um, actually I'll take good pics if I find a Coho too! As previously discussed, TPU NO LONGER STOCKS RIFFE LAKE, so hopefully I get the same luck as "tight lines".

2/25/2010 7:23:00 PMkokanee have a v shaped tail just like sturgeon. the silvers and kings have a square looking tail. i have been catching all three up there.

2/26/2010 12:50:00 AMI caught a 22 inch Coho out of Riffe awhile back,and a lot of 17-20 inchers over the years.They dont have the finely pointed snout like a silver you catch in Rimrock, Bumping,or Roosevelt,Which are Kokanee.Now Roosevelt has 3-5 lb Kokanee in it with the state record being 6.25 lbs.
