3/27/2010 9:51:00 PMIf I had known we were going to keep catching trout I would have kept the first one I think, would have had enough meat by the end of the day! That one you caught was pretty darn nice. too bad I forgot my camera AND cell phone. would have been nice to get some pics. just means we have to get out again soon! thanks again for hosting :)

3/28/2010 8:58:00 AMIt's fun to fish with someone again. Been fishing by myself for too many years. I need to get use to partners again. Always good to have other opinions on how to fish any given day. A couple other people I want to fish with also.

3/28/2010 9:57:00 AMI gained a lot by fishing with Tom yesterday. He was able to see how stubbornly I work the drop shot (but I did give spinners and cranks a FEW casts, LOL) but watching what lures he was hooking his on helped give me some confidence and ideas for other lures I need to work. Part of me thinks as the season gets closer I should just pick a different style of lure and stick with it for the full day.

3/28/2010 5:55:00 PMgreat job guys! Dustin, you're right on the money....the best way to learn to use something new is to just go out sometime and only take that rig with you. This is how alot of us learn to fish with jigs and swimbaits, because often times the bites on those baits can be few and far between and as soon as the going gets tough, we all default back to our go-to confidence baits. Throwing Cranks and Spinnerbaits at times will put alot more fish in the boat, because they are targeting the active (biters) and allowing you to cover alot more water, whereas many times you are trying to coax fish into biting a finesse rig like a dropshot.
