You could Anchor out in front of the big island on the west end by the resort and drop a nightcrawler down just off the bottom. If it's calm you can just drift. Try trolling right in front of the campsites at the west end resort also.

Keep in mind that with the re-hab fish kill, there are few, if any, "minnows" in the lake now. Sure, there should be some bass and some crappie minnows, but they are going to be pretty tight to cover and not really available to the trout. I would avoid messing with minnow profiles right now if it were me. On the flip side, a good attractor pattern should work. Perhaps taking a lesson from the last kill some 25 or so years ago is in order - try flatfish.

Anchor out in front of the four seasons public fishing dock, fish off the bottom with a worm and marshmellow and about a two foot leader, use florocarbon 6 pound test line. I'VE SEEN AND CAUGHT MORE FISH CAUGHT OFF THE DOCK THEN IN ANY BOAT, using this tried and true method at sprague lake.

I'm the guy that lost 20 inch or better fish with the mud minnow, I won't tell you how to fish but I fish the muddlers most of the time do as good as many and better than most. It does' t always have to imitate exactly what they are eating otherwise marshmellows would never ever catch a fish ( unless there is underwater marshmellow farm I don't know about). I believe its about speed and depth , you put it in front of their nose and they see an easy meal they are going to eat it . Those fish don't get that big by letting an easy meal get away, water temp dictates speed ,depth is where is where the most food is at. How many fish have you cleaned and found stuffed with nightcrawlers?
