I launched at Deer around 10:00 and tried for the macs until around noon with no luck. So I switched tactics and went to the East Side of the Lake and started trolling small rapalas in 12-10 foot of water. ( I was like 5 ft from the end of the docks) ........and within 100 yds of starting bam we have a double on. Lost em both! Trolled back and forth and landed 5 triploids and kept one. (White meat-yuck- save it for the smoker) I did hook into something very nice though- It just doubled my downrigger rod which I was flatlining and fought hard hard all the way to the boat. It broke my upper splitring on the rapala and the hook broke loose. It was belly up a few feet from the boat and sunk slowly down. Big Fish, whatever it was. Nice weather and a good day to be on the water. Do it again on Sunday with the boy!!!!!

Did they plant triploids in Deer? You have my card... call me when you want to chase the Pike! Have a good one and keep teaching your boy what life is all about. Family, fishing and friends!

They planted trips, and its an easy limit, it took me 2 yrs to get dialed there. P.O. sloughs are 62-63 in the afternoons, and the water has come up a foot since Monday.
