Have gone fishing from a dock and boat close to dock on South Lake Samish for the past 2 weeks. The perch are hitting as of yesterday. Caught a 10" perch and about 15 small 5-6" perch. Also caught a 14" catfish and 5 6-8' catfish. Caught a couple of carp in the 15-24" range. Trout are hitting farther and deeper out and have caught them from 4" - 18". Pike minnows from 8-15" are also out and very aggressive. Have heard that we should kill the carp and pike minnow. Any thoughts on that?

Indeed. The state has a bounty on the heads of pikeminnow throughout the state. Please remove them from the water.

Yes... please kill all Pike minnows aka Squawfish. The Carp... if they are Grass Carp they should be released... if a common carp kill all you can as well. Good luck fishing!! Thanks for the report.
