Got out to the lake at about 5:30. Lots of people fishing already and the sun was just starting to come up. Went to my favorite spot on the other side of the lake. I used only spinners and it took about 15 minutes to catch my first fish. Most of the fish caught were in the 6 to 8 inch range as they planted smaller ones there this year than in the past. I did get roughly a 3 pound hold over to the boat and realized that I forget my net and the line broke. Luckily about an hour later I caught another hold over and it was larger in the 3.5 pound range. I did get him in the boat unhooked him and let him go back to get bigger or let someone else have some fun. All fish were released unharmed and I had a great morning of fishing.
