Went there in the morning at 7 AM hoping for lots of space to toss hardware. The parking lot had many cars and they were all fishing. I went with a short 5 ft leader on the right side and didnt get a bite. Doubled the leader length and got a fish on the first cast. Went 4 for 5 over the next hour or so.

Saw all kinds of people fishing. People who couldn't tie a hook, cast or set the hook. They all got this one guy to help them. He did everything except set the hook for them. I almost got hooked when people around me were casting. All of these people caught fish. One guy landed a 8 incher and started slamming it on th ground to kill it. Yum, tenderized trout. Haha, It was good times.

I was out there in the afternoon and it was pretty much the same. I helped a kid figure out his gear. Amazing how the low tech fishers do it. They will soon get tired of catching 8 inchers and the 8 inchers will disperse soon leaving them fishless with their bobbers and power bait crossing lines and tangling people who actually know what they are doing. By the end of this month only those people who know whats what will be catching fish and they will be a lot better than the 8 inchers getting pulled out of the lake now. Can't wait for June.

I am no pro, but I am certainly a more experienced fisherman than the average guy on that pier. However, I would love a tip or two for fishing that lake in June as I have been skunked myself after the 8 inchers are gone. If you don't mind sharing.

I was still catching them late May last year using marshmallow with worms while everyone else was still using power eggs.
