Arrived at the lake approximately 11 AM and immediately noticed a commotion at the shoreline of the launch area. Taking out my floating line, I began casting a Stimulator dry fly and within a few minutes immediately hooked up with 2 5 inch fish. One of these 2 fish being a brown but the other resembled a fish that I had recently learned was planted in some Eastern Washington lakes, TIGER Trout. This fish had the brown tan body but and the markings on the fish resembled the wormlike markings of a brook trout. I'm wondering if there has been a plant of these Tiger trout in Pass Lake?
After this, I launch my boat and headed down the lake trolling a black Woolly Bugger on a sinking flyline. Passing down the south shoreline, I hooked up with a 17 inch bow and for the next several hours, continued trolling the south and east shores eventually catching 10 fish. As evening approached, the fish seemed to be rising to the surface and so I shortened up my line out trolling just under the surface and eventually hooked 6 more fish, one of which was a 19 inch Brown.
It appears that the game department must have made some plants of small fish recently since casting into the shorelines results in catches of many 5 inchers.
