First time on Tapps, and after getting lost a couple of times trying to find the park, we hit the water around 8:30 am. I knew nothing about this lake except that I heard that the fishing is usually good by the levy's. I really liked the look of this lake from the get go, very rocky, not many weeds, and lots of little areas where you can escape the wake from the watersports folks. Fished the inlets on either side of driftwood point, and pulled some 1 pounders there. One of the bass that I got was a different species, looked like the bass that were in the seminar tank at the sportsman show. Moved southwest to a small island and my buddy Mark started gettin smallies on a wedding ring type spinner. At that point I realized that I was out of gas(gauge is broken), and my primary trolling battery was getting low(didn't plug in the boat after the last trip), so I pulled the cranking battery and hooked it to the bow mount, and trolled back to the launch. Along the way Mark picked up two more smallies on that same spinner. Beautiful day to be on the water, and despite the $15 dollar launch fee, I think I will be back to Tapps soon (better prepared of course). It looks to be a great park to fish from if you dont have a boat, facilities are great, very nice park.

Good report. I have not been there, either, because I hate paying, and I can afford it, I just hate paying to fish after all the other expense involved.
