Wont be good for long if people keep killing fish just to throw them in the bushes, that is against the law according to the rule book.

actually i kill every squaw i catch as well, they eat and harm the population of all other gamefish. Why do you think there is a bounty on them in other areas??? right on fishinboy, thanks for the report. i'm down there all the time, i've probably talked to ya.haa

Squawfish make excellent plant fertilizer. Thanx for keeping helping keep the land vegetation green :-)

Here on Lake Chelan I use Northern Pike Minnow(Squawfish) Fillet strips to catch Chinook and Laketrout..It does make great Bait..Wonder if it would work out in the salt for the Kings? Just a thought...actually I have used the fillet strips on the Ace Hi-Fly in the ocean and it works great..Also it works well here for catfish on Roses Lake..

Some of you really need to get educated. Northern Pike Minnow in some bodies of water are native and a part of the natural system. The only reason there are bounties in certain areas are from predation around Dams. These dams have created unnatural situations where Norther pike minnow thrive. Lakes obviously do not fit this mold. I don't really care if you kill em or not....but at least get educated on the subject.

raptorchild has a point. Do whatever you do, in your own space/time. But realize that if you sort of boast about trashing out some fish, somebody will call you out on it. I'd probably fertalize with the pike minnow too, but I wouldn't throw anything in the bushes.

Kill every pike minnow you hook and land. They a voracious predator of all fishes, especially salmoids. Because they are long lived, especially in Lake Washington, don't eat them... Some individuals fishing the Columbia River make over $30,000 - $40,000 off the bounties the power companies offer...is mitigation for salmon loses due to the predation of the pike minnow (squaw fish) on threatened Snake and Columbia River salmon.
