Did some bassin on Storm Lake this morning...there were small bass all over the lake (I C&R'd 25-30 largemouth), but no big ones. Caught them on a Rapala and finesse worms around mostly wood, but some on weeds. Tried deeper too, no luck. I have caught some decent size bass here in the past, but couldn't muster one up today. Still a good time, and would be a great place for a beginning bass fisherman, or someone looking for numbers.

What kind of hook(s) are on your Rapala Hawgs? My bump to hookup ratio is about 10 to 1 :(

Splitshot...I remove the front hook and replace with the same size red Mustad treble hook. I mostly troll rapalas just above submerged weeds/etc. outside the visible weed/pad line - not much casting with them. When I get hit the fish seem to hook themselves. Other than the red hook, I just use the stock hooks. Sorry there isn't more to share...take care.

Hey thanks for the Tip.
I'll have to add one or two to the old tackle box.
