I delivered a dishwasher to a house boat on Lake Union the other day. I asked the guy '' do you ever see bass around here?'' he was like, yeah... big ones! I asked If I could come fish the dock (private property) on my day off and he said yes. I show up and the gate was open so I begin with my favorite XPS crankbait (red crawfish design). It is ribbed so it swims way more natural. Well the $18 I paid for it at bassproshop paid off.

My first fish was a 4ibs large mouth. It darted out from the dock where this ladder entered the water with no hesitation and smashed the bait. It took me under the dock so I tryed to wear it out by lowering my drag. It got off the hook after figure 8'ing the fish 1 too many times. I was pissed. 3 casts later on a different deeper extention of the dock, here comes the big momma. She also just flew after the bait. Right as I see the big bass chasing my crankbait, I hear... YOU CAN'T FISH HERE!!!! Then bam! So this crazy resident is yelling at me to leave as I'm fighting this 5-6 Ibs largemouth! It burried my pole but I landed her after 45 seconds or so. Nice and fat. To make things worse, my camera was dead. She still had eggs for sure.By now I've realized I forgot the gentelmen's name of the house boat. Befor I can knock on his door the mad guys starts calling the cops. So I made a run for it.

I hit the south end of the lake near all the park construction and landed a nice 2 ibs smallie on the same crankbait. I sawl the smallie swimming with a stickle back in it's mouth. The stickle back got out of it's mouth somehow. I changed my position and she was on my line in a few seconds. I also caught a huge 3+ ibs squa (sp?) fish. I wanted to kill it but there were a lot of kids around.

Finished off in the channel and caught a few. I'm noticing way more people fishing now. I wonder if the cat's out of the bag .

All and all... That was my 2nd Largie over 5 ibs in 3 weeks between Lake Washington and Union so I am way happy. Wish my camera would of worked.

This report / story has nearly the entertainment value and excitement of another member on this site. That members name will remain anonymous to protect the innocent. But the sidekick, a dog. has a name.........Jack Bauer. LOL!!

Ha.. Ha. Ha.. lol, I too was laughing my ass off. Great report! That is so funny that you had the permission granted, then it was FISH ON! Along with squirrley resident! Hats off to you for keeping your composure and moving on down to the South end park. I have not fished that yet, but have wanted to. I am thinking that you must have been near that little foot bridge at the S. end park. Good Times...

Awesome report and a true rollercoaster story, haha!!! Your story/day definitely had a beginning, a climax and an end :) Regarding bank fishing in the Lake Union area, the cat is definitely out of the bag ...good because there are a lot of people consistently catching quality fish and bad because there are a lot of people consistently catching quality fish. More good news...As long as we practice C&R when catching bass, there'll be plenty of the world's #1 sport fish for everyone to experience for years to come. Tight lines.

Thanks guys. It would of made a great episode of ''The Great Outdoors'' urban edition or whatever that show is called. I release all bass I catch and agree with Edgeran take on Union. So my camera died but it you look at the lake Washington report on page 3 you'll see the other 5 pounder I landed almost a month ago. Yesterdays momma was probably 1/2 a pound heavier with eggs. See you guys out there, I'm off today as well.
