Crazy, just crazy! Almost bagged today b/c I have so much to do. Decided to go out at about 9:30. Headed out and had a flat tire on the way. Didn't end up getting on the water till noon. Fished for 2 hours before I finally got this girl to come to the boat on a Mepps Giant Killer, Black bucktail. She came up to the edge of the boat, then sat there. I reversed direction in a figure 8... I hadn't even made a complete turn yet when she sucked down the bucktail. Fought her for about minute and she came right to the boat. We probably could have netted her there, but I thought she might be way too green to put in a net.... About the time we were thinking of putting the net down, she made another run and fought for maybe 2-3 more minutes. She finally tired of the fight and came right to the boat. We netted her and then did our business. She threw the hook as soon as I let slack off the line. Thank Goodness I had her in the net at that time. Here are the particulars.......

Length= 44"
Girth=21.5
Calculated Weight= 25.42 pounds

She was a very fat and happy fish. She swim yet to grow and be caught by someone else!

Holy Smokes, Doug.. that is one healthy fish - she just glows - good skin - she looks like she is smiling, lol.
Nice smile on both of you. Congrats on your personal best... you guys are on fire over there. Looking forward to coming east in 2 weeks. It is getting exciting for all of you, WTG!

Thanks guys! She put up a marvellous fight. Watching her take the buck-tail when I turned it was textbook. I wish all the fish reacted the way she did!

Now that's a fish! It's a shame we didn't use up any of that luck when you and I went out. I have been out twice since and no luck. There must be something to this musky stuff that I haven't figured out. Nice going and "Happy Fishing"

Remember where I caught the Crappie on the Husky jerk? She was sitting maybe 100 yards south of there.....

Thanks Lucius! I'm just hoping to hang on to a little of it for our first tournament! Hopefully we have a couple of fish like that caught in our first tournament!

She sure looks healthy. Got up at 5:00 and bagged it with all the lightning. Kinda regret it now. Congrats.
