Well Mel had the day off so we started about 10:30 and fished till 6:00 pm. The weather was hot and the wind was blowing pretty good most of the day. The water temp is in the upper 70's. At about 2:00 I had a fish hit about 5 yards from the boat but it missed the bait so i swung the bait first down one side of the boat then as i went to take it around the front of the boat it hit again but once again didnt take the bait just swatted at it, unfortunately didnt catch that one. We fished for about another 3 hours and i finally got one that wanted to inhale the bait, this one was a 36"x13.5" girth. Not a bad day of fishing but i wish more were hitting the wifes baits, she deffinetly has been putting in the time. Just goes to show you just never know whos going to catchem. Good fishing everyone....

I was out their Bass fishing Wednesday & saw a good sized Tiger floating in the Lily pads. It is the 2nd dead one i've seen in the last month. The 1st one was @Silver & it was absolutely HUGE! Have you seen any dead Tiger's? & Do you have any idea why they're dying? BTW you have been slaying them all summer, thanks for the great reports!! Especially the double hook-up from a few posts back, that was amazing. -William

Cropping photos what are you talking about i didnt take the picture youd have to talk to my personal photographer lol and whats photo shop? Blue- i havent seen any dead fish this year, guess it could be from people miss handling them or hooking them deep they are a pretty fragile fish if people dont take care of them after they catch them. I hate to say it but there are people who hate them for no reason too. I see alot of dead bass at Eloika Lake in the spring and its from the stress of spawning i was told, them moving in and out when the weather changes alot. Which is deffinetly not the case with the sterile tigers. How big was the Tiger you saw dead at Newman?

I didn't actually get a tape on it but i'd say mid 30's is pretty accurate. It had to have been fresh too as it wasn't bloated & didn't stink yet & it was 90 degrees that day. As for Eloika; I did see (8) dead LMB their one day in mid June. I've heard a theory that they have a hard time digesting a lot of the new "super plastics" like YUM, GULP etc... I don't cotton to the idea myself but it could be. I inspected the largest one because i wanted to weigh it . She had black spots on her mouth that looked like some type of fungus. Other than that she was a beauty & went 6 lbs 9 oz. -William

Yeah i fish Eloika everyday in the spring from April till June and i saw alot of dead fish too. I've been out there since 1982 and it seems like you get years where there are dead fish and other years where there arent any. Might just be the end of those fish's cycle too. Use to be alot more when everyone fished waterdogs. craig
