Today me and my girlfriend celebrated my birthday fishing Trails End Lake. We had the best day ever fishing this lake. We couldn't keep the fish off our hook and lost count how many we caught. Seems like we had a fish every other cast. When we got there one of the people that lived on the lake said we wouldn't catch very many bass at this lake but it was just the opposite. Most of the fish were between 8"-14" and not many were smaller than that. They all fought very hard and gave us the biggest thrill. My girlfriend got the big fish of the day a 3.5lber. She also caught many between 1-2lbers. We were mostly using a 3" black or brown senko. Both colors worked well all day. I was catching them on a 4" yamamoto kut tail worm in black or brown. As I was loading the boat my girlfriend caught a few more bass from the boat launch. I also caught a few fish on a booyah 1/8oz pond magic spinnerbait in a grasshopper color. There is an awesome bass population in this lake. We caught and released all the fish so that they can grow bigger and hopefully reproduce.

I forgot to mention we were catching these fish in 1-2 feet of water.

That's awesome!! We have property on Trails End lake and we spend alot of the summer there. (our property by the way, is probably the only property on the lake w/ out a house, it's the one on the east side right in the middle w/ just a fire pit, green shed and a terrible 5thwheel that someone dumped out there that we havent got rid of yet) For the most part I dont even bother taking the boat out, I just wade in the shallows and they just nail spinners and yes, the floating Rapalas! Thank you for the catch and release! ALOT of people fish that lake and it has a tendency to get overfished. If everybody kept what they catch out of there all that we would catch are the juveniles! On the boat however we seem to still have the most luck on the east side, I think because the eastside has more docks, vegetation, and quite a few more logs than the west side, and it's shaded longer in the morning. I just saw your report from yesterday and we're headed out there today for the weekend. If your ever out and you see us, feel free to pull that boat up and grab some bbq and a beer :)

Redd- I'm not to sure about the trout but one of the residents said they were biting in the early morning. He's also the same guy who said we wouldn't catch bass so i'm not sure.
