LMBDave and I decided to hit up American Lake Friday morning in hopes of getting into some Smallie Action but that was cut short due to the high amount of pleasure boaters out there making the water unbearbly choppy as well as the heavy winds causing us to drift unusually fast.

We did manage to catch some good sized Rock Bass and I caught one DINK smallie.

So we then decided to call it quits and headed out to Lake Louise after grabbing a bite.

We just MURDERED the fish at Louise.

Caught lots of Largies though the biggest was only a half pounder that was caught by Dave.
Still a good fish.

Also caught tons of BIG rock bass and a bunch of Yellow Perch.

Dave was using a Mister Twister Exude Tube and was doing quite well with it.
It was his first time using a tube jig so it was awesome that he did so well.

I was using Finesse Lizards fished topwater and a Drop Shot Rig with worms.
Both methods killed the Largies and Rock Bass.

After caughting a ton of fish, we decided to jump in and have a swim since it was so hot out.
We had some goggles and were swimming around the sunken logs and we saw some pretty big Largies hiding under logs as well as Rock Bass and Pumpkinseed Sunfish. That was really fun and refreshing.

But back to fishing we went and that's when something awesome happened for me.

The highlight of the day was when I TOPPED my previous Personal Best Rock Bass.
My old record was an 11 inch Rock Bass (Did not have a scale then)
This time I caught an 11.5 inch Rock Bass that weighed in at 13 ounces! Nearly a Pound!
The fish was big and fat, had huge girth and it fought VERY hard!
When I set the hook, it started to rip out drag and I thought I had hooked into a decent Largie.
But when I got it up to the surface I was shocked that it was a Rock Bass!

The State Record for Rock Bass is 1 lb 6 oz.
I hope to beat that record before I die :D

Enjoy the pics :)

Haha yeah it is! It's crazy how big and dark the eyes are on this big rockbass compared to the small red eyes you see on the juveniles. I just noticed I typed "caughting" in this report.. The result of debating whether to type "after we caught a lot of fish" and "af catching" LOL
