Saw a report on the Department of Fish and Wildlife that Dalton lake
was stocked with ~10,500 trout on 2-17-99. Thought I would take my two
daughters Jessi (6) and Kayla (4) out to see if we could catch a few trout.
The weather was a bit on the chilly side, but we went anyways. Got there and
only saw 1 boat and one group of bank fisherman. Jessi caught 3 nice trout
10-12'ers before Kayla and I could catch one. Kayla then caught 2 and I finally
caught 1.
We caught them on magnum power eggs. The fish seemed a little stunned from the
recent stocking. Should heat up in a week or two. Well 2 hours of fishing is
better than 2 hours of work anyday. Good luck and good fishing.
