So we decided to go out and try eloika lake for some catfishing for the first time I have only bass fished there but wow . We got to Jerry's Landing at 8pm and he kicks people off his dock at 10pm so I didnt plan on really getting anything there . Much to my surprise we did get somthing there within the first 5 minutes i had a fish on and it was a decent one at that . The fish was about 16" and almost 2 pounds real stout hefty lil cat the bite was steady and they were hard fighters . So will I go back out there and catfish again HELL YEA sorry no pics yet if I can get my sister inlaw to send them to me I'll repost

keep ya linez tight

May i ask how you catch a cat fish? worm on the bottom> I am not into them much but i friend of mine wants me to him out catfising but i am not the best catfisherman, a few tips would be nice if you can so i don't let him down. Thanks and stay safe out there.

Heard from the locals that they are killing off the lake, any word from the folks at Jerry's landing about that? OBTW, for health reason's I wouldn't eat any fish from this lake...

LOL - The Lake is getting spot treatments for weeds, but no fish kill-off is going to take place. This is one of the best warm water fisheries in the State and it is totally unsuitable for cool or cold water species. With the only trash/non-game species of number being the Tench, which does not seem to impact the lake much, I don't see a fish kill there for years and years and years, if ever.

The lake is little to no pollution, so eating the fish from Elokia is just fine. I don't know where some of this comes from, but it just has to make you laugh.
