WOW What a day on the water. After seeing my Kokes from the Thursday trip to Palmer Lake in Okanogan county With Joe from Lake Chelan Adventures, Cindy was ready to tackle a road trip to get in on the action. Cindy came off five 10 hour work days and had today off before going back to the job on Sunday. She said she could rest on the trip there and back, and I just couldn't pass on a deal like that. We made an early Saturday morning start for the drive North, and were on the water around 0800ish. After watching Joe pull in some great Kokes on Thursday, I was thinking I could put a few in the boat. So we fought the wind, with some screaming gusts most of the day, and after about 8 hours on the water, we both had a limit of 17-18" Kokanee. Our Biggest Kokanee ever!! We trolled with a variety of set ups and colors, but was not able to establish a pattern, so it was try everything and catch the gullible ones. After the limit on Kokes, we tried to perch fish but the anchor wouldn't hols in the wind. Using the electric, we were able to slow drift with the wind, and picked up a dozen or so perch for a mess. They were running 8-10 inches for us today. A Big thanks to Joe for all the tips and advice that made this extrodinary adventure a success for us. Ole Cindy was one tired turtle at the end of the day, but she was wearing a smile on the way home. Take care all, and good luck on your adventures.

What a nice limit of kokes, and a nice mess of tasty perch to go along with it! Too bad Palmer is a 4 hour drive away or we'd have to give it a try too. Thanks for a nice report Lewis, our best to you and Cindy!!!

Hi ya Robert, It was our first time to put a boat on Palmer, and Cindy's first trip there. (only my second). It has been many years since I fished "stained" waters, so the learning curve is there. Lucky for me, Ole Joe was willing to turn loose of some prise winning tips. We'll be going back to try for some more perch action.

Thanks Phil, We were Definitely impressed with them. We had some mule deer up on the hill side watching us launch, an eagle checking things out, and breathtaking scenery as a back drop. The best day of therapy day we've had in quite a while. LOL Sure glad we had ole Blue to fish out of though. The white caps make for a tiring day, but well worth it. Wishing you and Debbie tight lines and hungry fish

Wow, you guys make it look easy! Although, early start, bucking the the wind & a long drive home lets you sleep good at night. I'm taking notes for when I get some free time. Thanks for the report.

Thanks Toni. I tried some of those Sickle hooks like you had and I like them pretty good. I feel they hook and hold well. Take care

Hi ya afk, I slept like a baby once I got in bed. Took awhile to get rid of the sea legs. 8 hours of rough water had an effect on us. Just glad I didn't have to do a sobriety walk LOL.

Thanks Mr DOG. We had heard great fishing stories about Palmer Lake for many years, but we just never took the time to actually check it out. What a mistake on our part. This lake is on our list to fish again now that we have tasted what it has to offer. Can't wait for the weather to stabilize, I would love to be able to have a relaxing day on the water up there. Take care and Luck in all your endeavors.
