We popped the jon boat into Phantom Lake today, no bites. That worm did flutter around pretty good though. Pleasant scenery and weather, no cost for the required permit, I didn't have to haul the battery to the lake since electric motors are not allowed.... LOL I'm trying to state only the positive stuff here... LOL The weather was awesome! Finally a few good days of weather in a row on the calendar! Looking forward to finding another lake with some bass in it! Have a good one!

I have fished that lake a couple times from a canoe -- managed to catch a couple bass, up to 14 inches, on floating Rapalas.

I'm just starting out targeting bass. With that being said, my thought is that the bass in there right now MIGHT be holding in the thick cover where boats/fishermen can't get at them. It looks to be an extensive area with those willows/brushy stuff, the water being shallower would be warmer and with the brush, safer. The water was pretty clear so any bass on the shoreline without cover would be easy prey to the increasing number of bald eagles/osprey on the eastside of Lake WA area.
We tried plastic worm, spinner bait, crank bait, one was a floating rapala. It doesn't surprise me to hear that you've fished this lake Bob, seems you've fished nearly every body of water in the state of WA! I think that is great!
Maybe this lake will come alive with accessible bass by mid july, water warming up, may be a decent perch bite then thru oct as well. ?????????

A lake that doesn't allow electric motors? I've never heard of such a thing?

Some very small lakes like Pine is no motor at all... and it's a good lake in some years, while in others it's just so so (I don't know why). However, my best bass from WA came from that lake, a 7Lb about 4 years ago (C&R) on a weird February warm period. I have caught bigger bass on the south, but 7Lb is my record in WA... last year my best was 3Lb... LOL.

WRT no electric motors - what I heard is that some lakes have that rule because local ordinances that were passed years ago to ban all motors before electric motors were practical/common. One assumes they really meant to ban gas motors, but weren't that exact in writting the ordinance.

Since I like to troll I usually don't go to lakes that don't allow any motors - fortunatly there are lots of great lakes where electrics are OK.
