Met up with Lord of the fly and Pika26 at Bitter lake for some bassin'. Got on the water about 6:30. The lily pads are just starting to fill in which was nice to concentrate on fishing that cover. Coming out of the launch Lord/fly spotted a large white koi. The guys fished from a canoe and target trout mostly, rock bass at dark, but they can file their own report. I went across the lake and concentrated on pitching my drop shot towards those concrete overhangs. I almost fish nothing but wacky rigged senkos on this lake usually, but tonight I worked on drop shotting. I was drop shotting a soft plastic bait fish. I picked up a LMB in this area, 1.2 lbs. 15" I had all my gear to do the photo op. with the Fishinfool bait and 3x5 card etc. However I realized I wasn't using FnF's bait! I then fished most of the night using the given FnF baits. I liked how they move in the water. I did not have any action though with this setup. Later I switched back to my drop shotted bait fish, and picked up another largie, just shy of a pound, and lost one at the tube. Caught a few rock bass, they always come on strong at dusk. Nice night on the water, and good to practice other things be sides you go-to baits.

That`s what I like about the tourny. get to focus on something other then your usual. But when they don`t work I throw what I know and bam wish it was on a FNF.

Nice job Quadfather. Pika cleaned out a weedbed of rock bass where you were casting at around 8pm. We're thinking of hitting up Green Lake next week sometime.
