I love this time of year! Today was one of the best trips in recent memory because my good buddy Joe Cortez of Sunnyside caught the biggest bass of his life AND crappie too. We both nailed some monster slab crappie, with Joes biggest crappie stretching to nearly 16 inches and weighing almost two pounds. The amazing thing was that I got our best fish on several clips of video, from a camera I didn't know had that feature. I'm hoping to put the clips together for a you tube video. Joes big bass was nearly 8 lbs and she was promptly released folowing Photos. The crappie were caught while suspended over a 16 foot ledge on my custom 1/16th oz. Jigmiester forage minnow jigs. Joe's big fish inhaled a 5" Purple Kalin's grub that he swam along a deep drop off. All told we boated 11 bass and 13 crappie in a little under 2 hours. Joe did his mentor Jiggy proud. I will include Joes incredible crappie pics in my next post. Tight lines guys.
