My brother and I have been fishing at West Medical from the shore a couple of times this month, and we hadn't had a even a bite, so we decided to rent a row boat. The boat made a big difference. We caught a couple good size (2-3lbs) just North of the Willow tree and about 100' from the shore and another 3 pounder inside the first cover to the right of the boat launch. We trolling very slow with red, white, and blue power bait with a powerbait marshmallow for a float. We used a small weight just off the bottom with a 4' lead. All together we caught 6 fish from 6am to 2pm. It was a great time. When you hook 'em these fish dive and jump out of the water.

The jumping does make it more fun. Good job nice fish, but FYI the state says don't eat them. Info is available through state water reports. Same warnings as fish from the Spokane river. A dirty little secret not published much. Why I don't know.

Sourdough- I forgot to post a "thank you" for your comments. I appreciated them. We actually had already tried to smoke them before I read your post and you were right. They tasted like dirt. It is a great lake for catch and release, but I won't be eating anything from there.
