Tried fishing for trout with worms, powerbait, and power Eggs. Came up with not even a bite so I tried for Bass with a yellow plastic soft lure. you could see one splashing up at the surface so I casted my lure over to it and after my second cast hooked it in the swim area (it was early and nobody was Swimming). nice sized about 4lbs. Suprised because Bass are not even listed as a species in this Lake.

that is weird as I had heard they killed off all the bass to save the trout in this lake

That surprises me too. That lake is usually kept free of "warm water species." Park lake is not yet on my list of bass lakes -- will have to try it this fall.

Most of the Sun Lakes contain Bass. Every five or so years the state kills the lake off to help the trout fishery but within two years the Bass are back. They should give up and let it be. We were catching Smallmouth and Largemouth out of Blue Lake before they poisoned it three years ago.

Caught a 17" LM out on Blue Lk just before Memorial day wknd..wouldnt put those lakes on my bass hit list though..head to Banks for that. But Blue lake will be a heck of a trout lake next year..20" I bet will be common, they were running 16" or so this year and 13" the year before

Agree. Blue lake Rainbows are big this year. Definatly Banks for Bass.

I like Blue also due to the fact it is more of just a fishing lake; after 9am it is hard to fight the pleasure boaters on Park but boy, that early morning bite is awesome with some big fish cruising the surface in the 16" range as well!
