Fished Sammamish from 4:30 to 7:45. Smallie fishing is starting to pick up for us 5 fish yesterday no real size, the one pictured is about the average which is not really what i'm used to from Sammamish. Fishing has been off for us so far this season. Mostly getting them on 4" Tubes and 4" Curly grubs a few on perch colored cranks. We got a few Fatties last week but no pictures. Big Cutts are always a bonus when pitching for Bass on Sammamish. Anyone else having trouble figuring out the Smallies on Sammamish so far this year? P.S. not sure about my Brothers middle finger pose, must be a message to me.

Wow, that is really a nice cutt. by Samammish standards. I wish I could find a few of those when out there.

I'm just as stumped on the smallies as you are! It's like they disappeared. I assume the lack of reports on this lake is partly due to the lack of fish. Been out a few times with only a couple to show for it.

The Cutt came off the end of a Dock in 12 feet of water. I t was on a Original Perch Rapala. As far as the Smallies go, i'm not even seeing any Bass Boats out there this year. Maybe July will prove better.

I remember the fishing being like this 4 years ago out there. At least I think it was 07'? Anyway, couldn't find any smallies in the usual haunts so one day just for the heck of it I went out a bit deeper off the ends of my favorite docks and drop shot some whacky rigged 4" and 6" Senkos. Right on the edge of the weed beds (deep side) I got fish. It was like that for about a week and then it got normal again. That was the year the lake flooded real bad and it took a long time for it to turn over.

I have been finding this in many of the lakes I have been fishing, Fish are setting in 14-20' of water, right at the bottom, or on trasitions of the drops that come off the shallow haunts. I did the exact same thing one day when we couldn't find any fish shallow. I had a wacky rigged dinger on a drop shot and flipped it to the other side of the boat, and bam! Then other times I will find them crusing around chasing fry. I love those times, when you can get the jerk bait out and just whack the crap out of 'em!
