That's a respectable catch of smallies anywhere on this side of the mountain. Live within 15 minutes of Lake Tapp Park, but never fished it. What is the launching fee, or is there a charge if you get there that early?

Charge at Lake Tapps North Park is $5 for Seniors (I am one of those) or I think $10 for regular folks, Not us old guys. Lake Tapps is a very good fishery.

Thanks for the imfo. I too am a senior. I guess there are some real hawg largemouth in that lake too. The fact that you found fish off shore tells me you know what you're doing. This time of the year after spawn, they do, for the most part, move off shore. I've had 10 to 15 smallie days on American drop shotting out in 15 to 20 feet of water, while others refuse to leave the shoreline and catching nothing.
