7/17/2011 11:31:00 AMWas that a typo on the $17.00 launch fee? I launch there regularly, and I believe it is either 7 dollars, or maybe 10.00. That being said free is always better. (-: Go to Google maps and look at the various parks around the lake. You could prob. swing into one of these and scootch out. This question has come up a few times recently on the forum.
Another option is at the N. end of the lake, where the Samammish river comes in. There is a public access across from the Dog Park at Marymoore park. You def. can hand launch there. You then have about maybe 1/8th of a mile to get into the very N. end of the lake. At that end there are some large lilly pad fields that hold bass. Also, go into the reports section of the website, for all the reports on Samammish. You can take notes as to the "What and Where" people were catching bass.

7/24/2011 11:15:00 PMYou're right, I need to correct my statement. It's a $7 launch fee with at $10 Discover pass fee (if you don't already have the annual pass for $30). The other day my wife and I were planning on launching from Vasa Park but ran into two problems. 1) The parks were absolutely packed with cars bumper to bumper on the roads. No chance of getting a spot easily. 2) The water was far enough away from the potential parking areas that I don't think I would have enjoyed humping the raft and all the ancillary equipment that far. It was the same for Marymore (sp?) and another short of Marymore. I've been hitting the weeds, pads, laydowns, and shelves on the south end of the lake hard, but only one small SMB on a spinner. I've tried fairly on top and I've tried dragging them low with drop shot rigs. There are plenty of perch around so I figured, if there's a baitfish, might be some fish that are hungry and big enough to eat them, right? I'll keep hunting, I like Sammamish a lot and enjoy fishing there. Except for boaters and jetskiers that don't have an ounce of consideration for folks fishing in a 9' raft. There's a lot of lake people. Take your boat/jetski to the middle and have at it. No reason to go rocking the lilly pads.
