I wanted to try my luck at Bass fhsing at Beaver lake. Read a few reports here and ordered a few lures and decided to head out. By the time i was on the water it was about 940am. Sunny day. I started fishing just left off the boat launch nearby the lily pads. I started with a frog lure and tried casting it a few times with no success. I then moved to a texas jib worm and tried that too. No luck.
So I moved a little to the right of the boar launch where there is a fallen tree and tried there with the worm and then another plastic lure that was rating high on cabellas. I think i got a bit and i tried to set the hook. But I guess i did not set it right, cause after a short fight the fish probably got away. Nothing after that.
SOme earlier reports on Beaver mentioned some food fishing by the north end of the lake so i headed there and tried a buzz spinner bait, a floating popper, plastic worms. Nothing.

I am not sure i am doing the right thing or is it the time of the day. It was a very hot day and i tried from about 945 am until about 100pm but nothing to land. I could use some guidance from you all avid fisherman and suggestions if there is a better lake to try my hands at bass fishing in King country.

It's been a very frustrating year for bass fishing IMO this year because of the odd weather. Sounds like you're using the right tackle etc. but just have to keep trying different baits and be patient and persistent. I have been out an average of 3 times a week with maybe one or two dinks per week. Lame. But still have to keep at it I guess. Good luck.
