Put the boat in the water at 3pm with two buddies. Ran down lake and fished a stretch of shoreline a few miles before you reach willow bay on the opposite side of the lake. Started out a little deeper, 20 or so foot. Threw some deep diver cranks and crashed those around, then tried plastic dragging, but the only thing that got touched was dead sticking a senko on a lead head. Caught a few short smallies before working shallow. Fish would not hit any type of reaction bait. Caught a lot of dinks on senkos and that was about it. As we were doing our drift we came across a bunch of stumps with scattered lily pads. I rigged up a Strike King baby rodent on a 3/0 hook with a 3/16th oz. bullet weight. Kept hitting every stump until wham, I had a nice take. Turned out to be a 3.8oz largie - not bad. So everyone tied on a plastic of some sort and we all caught fish, but nothing to write home about. I switched to a 5 inch beaver and saw my line start to move. Very light take, but I nailed her a good one. This largie went 3.14oz. But the pattern didn't produce as we hoped so we ran to the rocks in front of Tum Tum. Mike caught a 4.2oz. largie on a 1 oz. single colorado blade working a deep ledge. That was about it, no other bumps or strikes. Headed back up lake cause I wanted to fish near the launch and little Spokane as this area in the evenings is usually spectacular this time of year - NADA! Maybe to much water this year, maybe to much cold snow run off water? Not at all typical compared to the last 4 years in my experience.

I know what you mean, a lot of my lakes and rivers seem about a month behind normal. Oh well, I guess they need a rest from you and me. LOL
