Arrived at Lake around 6:30pm. Set up fishing spot on wooden dock. Talked to one other guy fishing, said he caught a trout before I showed up. I ended up fishing along the dock and along the lilypads. Only got 2-3 nibbles the whole evening! I was surprised that the bluegill or perch wouldn't be hittin' hard around this time. I did see one good sized bluegill floating dead on the surface near the dock. Not sure what caused the death? Anyway, fished for about an hour with no luck and was near the determination of leaving for home. Casted my worm out beyond the dock area and slowly reeled it in. Something slammed it and bent my rod over. I reeled it in and to my surprise a 12"-13" trout! I was just about ready to grab the fish when the line snapped and back into the water the trout went. Dang! After that, I grabbed my gear and headed out. I do like this little urban lake and think there is a lot of potential for fishing. Its especially nice that its located just a minute or two from my girlfriend's place. We both like to relax and head down to the lake. I did see some small bass cruising around in the shallows.
