Went out around noon to check the ice at the boat launch. It's between 4 to 6 inches depending which direction you go. I only walked out about 75 yards because there were no tracks on the ice and no new holes since the weather warmed up. I did hear some pinging further out but i think it was safe where I was. I'm not much of an ice fisherman so I don't take any chances. I hear over 4 inches is plenty but until I see more holes i'm not going to chance it. I only fished for about ten minutes and in about twenty feet of water then decided to head back in until we get a week or two of cold weather. No bites but didn't expect to in the middle of the day in 20 feet of water.
