2/12/2012 7:12:00 AMI caught my first lmb of the year on Feb. 6 of last year. It was in Chambers Lake in Lacey and water temps. were 42-44. I was using a blue and black jig with a pumpkin green trailer. I am pretty sure that you have to actually just about hit one on the head this time of the year to get a reaction, but who knows? I do not blame you for trying, much better than sitting at home. I went last weekend just because it was nice and warm and I wanted to get out.

2/12/2012 5:36:00 PMPretty tough fishing this early....especially for largemouth. Last year a friend of mine and his son caught several on Whitman in late March using a jig and trailer. Anyway, pretty little lake. One thing I never could understand is why a speed limit has never been put on that lake. Because the lake is so small, a waterskiier is traveling in a continual circle and in a fisherman's face ever 5 minutes. And with more than one, a fisherman in a boat might as well forget about it.
