With the high gas prices, (92 dollars to fill my tank) I think my steelhead season has ended. So time to switch to bass! It was snowing at my house yesterday but the trees and plants are starting to bud so the fishing must be getting going also. I wanted to go mostly to get a water temp but I forgot the sonar. It is probably low forties though. I got lucky and found a small one about a pound and a half. It took a tube skipped under a dock in about 4ft of water. I was surprised when I saw the line moving off to the side. I thought for sure the fish would be so sluggish that they would just pick it up and sit there. I guess it is time to start beating the bank. Fished from noon until 1:45.

I've also noticed a ton of trees w/ buds and flowers coming up earlier this year and also started going after bass... Congrats! I haven't got one yet. Big props!

Right on procaster, the early cold water period is my favorite. Most haven't a clue what awaits them under some of these docks during these
colder temps. It's only going up from here- good bass'n to ya
