Made a driveby of Silver after the skunk at Medical. Two families out in force, but looks like nobody having any luck. Water visibility was better. Cold. Was curious to see if the bluegill were starting to spawn - nope.

I do not believe there are any trout in Silver Lake. I have not been able to find a stocking report for trout in Silver in several years.

Because of the excess numbers of small perch, and a real tench problem, they put Tiger Muskies in Silver. At the same time they stopped stalking trout. They still do stock trout in North Silver, but that is special regulations.

The Tigers have thinned the perch and you can catch some nice keepers now. The Tigers have also thinned out the crappie and bluegills, and both are bigger. I find the Bass are doing well also.

Perhaps in the future, once the Tigers have done their job and died out (they cannot reproduce), then trout will be stocked again.

@anglinarcher - Thanks. I don't fish for trout at Silver. Winter I've ice fished for perch. Spring/Summer/Fall I'd fish it for bluegill. I've only caught the odd crappie - never really found 'em in the 9"+ keeper size. Have seen some nice reports on Liberty Lake crappie, would love to get into some of them.
