Had to make a delivery to downtown and stop by Patrick's Fly Shop to pick up some rod building stuff, so I stopped by Green Lake on the way home. The second batch of fish has been dumped, and these fish are bigger than the first one. Averaged 12 inches, and were pretty fun.

Casting a gold Panther Martin was the ticket, the whole school would follow it up. It was pretty cool. No shortage of bites from the fish, on both rods. Only stayed about an hour or so, the wind and rain picked up so I went home.

"Patrick's" huh? What are you up to on rod building? I've known Jim Lemert, the owner since about 9th grade. ........ One time at band camp..... We went to band camp together for many years. long story.

@ MotoBoat - it was corn flavored powerbait on the bottom.
@Quad Right on! Patricks is good people. I had to pick up some color preserver and some gold thread for the rod I'm building right now, it's going to be an 8 wt king rod.

Nate, have you fished any of the Mud Hole rods you've built recently? How do you like them?

The rod I'm building right now is on a Mud Hole blank I picked up for super cheap. It's no loomis, but it seems pretty sensitive and darn responsive and nice and lightweight. First mudhole blank I've gotten around to twisting up, so we'll see how it works out.
