The last 2 weeks of the season at Medical have been wonderful. I have not ever had so much success with Browns! We had been fishing it after work, from about 5pm to 7-730pm. One night we hung out 'till 9:30pm, and kept catching lovely Browns until our arms were tired.
Almost all the fish ran between 15"-20". A very few were smaller, but none under 13".
The Black Wooly Bugger took the majority, but Copper Killers, Zug Bug, Prince Nymph while the Sun was up.
At Sunset and beyond, it was Red Humpies, Tentwing Caddis, and then Hare's ear (beadhead) and Pheasant tail (also beadhead) fished on the surface or just under with floating line.
Those Browns are Bulldogs, they would dive and try to refuse to come up. Some very large fish were broke off the past few days also. My fishing partner (Gary) and I were using 4x tippet (6lb test) and occasionally losing big fish to broken tippet!
Man, those fish will be big come Spring time! Soooo much food in the water!
Good Luck to All!
Smooth
