Went out to Lake Sutherland today. I used a home made wedding ring orange with a piece of shoepeg corn. Fished with my down rigger at around 55 feet deep started to catch fish. Got my limit in about 2 hours. Water is still cold so fish are deep. It seems they didn't stock this year so fish are few and far between. So if its Kokanee your after fish deep until the water warms up. Good luck.

I understand that Lake Sutherland empties into what used to be Lake Aldwell which was the lake created by the Elwha dam. Now that the dam is gone the Kokanee in Sutherland might now start returning to saltwater and come back as Sockeye. At least that's what I understand from reading the fish recovery plan on the Elwha dam demolition site. Anyone know anything else about this?
