Sorry this report is a couple days late, this is the first time I have been on this weekend. I left work in time to beat the worst of Friday traffic, and already had rod in car, no extra stops or responsibilities. Now for the report.
I arrived at the boat launch just after five and could see that it had just gotten done raining fairly hard. The couple that was at the boat launch said I missed thunder and lightning which is funny because by the time I was set up to fish the sun was out and the wind was down already.

I first rigged with worm under a float and was hoping to get a mess of Crappie, Perch and Bluegill. I cast to the right where the lilly pad line stops because I have been able to pull these fish consistently from here but got nary a nibble....hmm, time to change tactics. It was getting pretty close to sunset by this point and the others on the lake and boat launch had left by that time so I had free run of all the accessible fishing. I switched to bottom fishing with chartreuse power eggs carolina rigged and cast out way left of the boat launch. To this pont I could count the number of fish I had caught with power eggs one hand. Zero. Switching to power eggs was the ticket though because I had barely gotten the slack out of my line before I felt the tell tale bump indicating it had been picked up. I quickly took in the rest of the slack, waited for a solid yank on the the line and gave the rod a solid yank back. Fish on! Once I got everything set back up it was rinse and repeat until I had my five trout limit. Left with a smile and a full stringer of 11-14 inch rainbows.
Great start to a 3 day weekend, Happy Memorial Day WaLakers and to our past and current servicemen on here, Thank you.
